Ashitakayama Suijinja Temple Hike

I joined a guided hike to Ashitakayama Suijinja.  It was a rainy day, but somehow that was appropriate for a visit to the Water Temple. The guide only spoke Japanese, but that was okay. It was an uphill hike, but not too difficult.

The guide was seriously prepared for anything that might happen.

We see the banners that tell us we are almost to the temple.

We took a different way back down and saw the dam spillway.

This is a suspension bridge.

What an interesting place to visit, and a great morning hike!

I am so happy to see much more English text on information boards at temples and other places in Japan than there used to be. specially when the guide only speaks Japanese.
It can also be very amusing as the English often has some grammatical issues.

A water temple in the rain - how appropriate! It looks like a beautiful place, very calm and peaceful.
