It seems like there is always a festival somewhere. When I got off the train in Toyohashi, there was a street full of Hawaian dancers and music and flowers and food.
At first I was surprised to see a Hawaiian Festival in Japan. Then I remembered that back in the late 80s and early 90s the Japanese were the largest numbers of tourists in Hawaii. As I recall that fell off when Americans became upset with the Japanese economy boomed due to their leadership in electronics. This festival was a nice surprise to see when you got off the bus. xx, Carol

Summer heat is the perfect time for a Hawaiian festival. Did you try any of the food/drinks?
Hah, the little dressed up pineapples. Hawaiian food is pretty delicious!
All these festivals sound great - never a chance to get bored!
