Counting Mistakes
Do you ever make mistakes when you are counting? I do and it's a problem. I hate to unstitch. When I discover I have made a mistake, I usually put the project away and work on something else.
How do you handle mistakes? Do you immediately correct them and continue stitching or do you do what I do, put it away and work on something else? I'm curious and want to know.
Here are a few of my mistake projects. My plan for the weekend is to try to find the mistake and unstitch the part that's wrong so I can enjoy working on the pieces again. We'll see how it goes.

I can't see the mistakes, it looks good to me! I try to unpick and fix mistakes straight away, but I don't do the cross stitch you do, mine is either machine or hand stitching.
When I make mistakes, I usually get disgusted with myself and put the work away, just like you do. :)

These are all gorgeous. Yes,I make mistakes. Sometimes I can cover up, sometimes not. It depends on the project. I see no errors here!
What a pain! I hate unpicking, and some of that looks like it would be very difficult to undo. If I haven't done much of the mistake, I can unpick it straight away, but the bigger the mistake the more likely I am to put it away because I just can't face it.
I can see the problem with Kogin, but can not spot the other mistakes.
Maybe the reason I like free form embroidery is that I can make as many mistakes as I like without 'having to' unpick and redo the work.
However should I make a mistake that needs to be rectified, I will correct it as soon as possible. I once made a large cross stitch project of three parrots , and got the colours mixed up. It didn't look too bad, so I kept it that way. However since then I have preferred to work a cross stitch, line by line changing colours all the time rather than work a particular pattern and then move on to another. I think that is where most counting mistakes occur.
Correct one of your projects this weekend and you will feel so proud of yourself. It is another 'stay at home weekend' so a good opportunity!
Pamela: I do not see mistakes, I do not put it away I undo and continue, I am a one at a time stitcher, it would bother me knowing I had a design waiting for me to correct it but hey that's just me.
Beautiful choices for stitching, that mini chair cushion is beautiful, and the rug also, is that silk gauge you are using? just curious.

My mistakes often stay unpicked for a while, then I think, I need to get it done. When I used to cross stitch I would often wear magnifying glasses bought at the chemist and enlarge the pattern on the photocopier......still didn’t stop me making mistakes of counting.
Good look finding the mistakes! The kogin is the only one where I could spot something wrong without knowing the pattern.
I usually try to figure out mistakes right away - that is, see if I can fudge it, and otherwise fix it. If I wait too long, I'll go nuts returning to the project later!
