Tokyo National Museum - Part 1
The Tokyo National Museum is located in Ueno Park, a short walk from the Ueno train station. The entrance fee for the regular (not special) exhibits is 1000 yen for adults.
The museum is quite large, with many different rooms and exhibits, full of Japanese treasures and history.
Many items have thick fishing type line to protect the pieces in case of an earthquake.
I'm always interested in seeing Netsuke in museums. The detail on these tiny toggles is amazing!

This is actually a spot from your adventures that I have been. What a fascinating place -- and items old beyond belief.
I feel there has been a change in the way museums show their collections - they have only a few items on display, but much to read. This means that we will be tempted to return to see other items when the museum changes the display. With too many things on display at the same time it becomes 'can't see the forest for the trees' effect.
Japanese history is fascinating.
