The small sculpture is “jizo”．The jizo
in the photo is “mizuko-jizo”．It mainly serves to comfort the soul of an
unborn baby.
It seems that people can gather at this
temple and hold a funeral.
Maybe the big and scary sculptures act
as talisman?
